MARC ADAMEC

Marc, has been a certified personal trainer for over 15 years and is the co-owner of Core Studios. As a former division I lacrosse player for the University of Delaware, he knows the importance of movement quality and the need for a strong, balanced body.
He believes that each client has different needs and goals and strives to create programs specifically designed for every person he works with. In opening Core Studios, Marc has worked to build a facility that combines that best of many training disciplines with a welcoming atmosphere for everyone who visits.

DAPHNE LEE

Health and Fitness is a way of life and Daphne is passionate about her clients, their experiences at Core and in their health education. With a masters in Exercise Physiology and Nutrition, ACSM, ACE, AFAA and Polestar Pilates certification, her focus is on the individual needs of her clients. She is currently a PHD candidate at the university of Maryland. Her career started with a Ms. Fitness title and a management position with Cory Everson’s-6 time Ms. Olympia Fitness Facilities. Daphne’s versatility and vivacious personality make her one of the best fitness professionals in the Washington area.

BILLIE MEYER

Billie began practicing Pilates in Aspen Colorado as a way of managing her own chronic neck and shoulder issues. She quickly realized the benefit of the Pilates work as an underlying tool for almost any physical endeavor. She completed her teacher certification at the Boulder Pilates Center and has been teaching for eight years. Billie's focus in her teaching is to help her students feel energized from the inside out and to move freely with strength emanating from the core muscles. She also thinks that “if you are not laughing, you are not doing Pilates”. She has a BFA from the University of Colorado in Boulder and enjoys hiking and Zydeco dance.

SHARON BOURKE

Sharon Bourke, is an ACE certified Personal Trainer/Health Consultant who for the past ten years has been working with corporations and individuals to effect change. Getting her start with group exercise and pre/postnatal work, she soon decided with her eye for detail, form and function, that Personal Training was the way to go. Helping people feel better drives Sharon to create unique programs that equal success for all of her clients.

HSIAO-FANG LEE

Hsiao-Fang has over ten years experience teaching Pilates, Gyrotonics, fitness, stretch and dance and has a masters degree in dance with a focus on kinesiology. She is a fully certified Gyrotonic® and Gyrokinesis® instructor and a fully certified Pilates instructor (both mat and equipment). She discovered Pilates after a fellow dancer rehabilitated an injury through Pilates and saw the transformation in her movement and physique. Utilizing both systems, Hsiao-Fang is able to create programs for her clients that are varied and dynamic.

GURJEET KHALSA

Gurjeet has been practicing the Pilates method for eight years and is certified through the  700 hour plus Articulate Eye teacher training program. In addition to Pilates she has taught yoga for twenty years. Gurjeet enjoys sharing the experience of strength and sense of well being that Pilates brings. When not teaching Pilates, Gurjeet teaches music at the Levine School of Music.

JAMIE MICHEL

Jaime was certified by the Ellie Herman Studio in Oakland California in 2003. She began training in Pilates after experiencing 2 car accidents that left her disabled and not only unable to dance, which had become a growing passion, but unable to work. After years of her own rehabilitation through the Pilates method she was able to return to work and to continue her study of Haitian and Cuban folkloric dance. Jaime has trained clients for over 5 years and is comfortable working with those clients who have special rehabilitative needs, as well as clients who desire to increase their overall level of strength and fitness. Jaime is currently working on her PhD in Community Psychology.

ERIN EVANS

Erin was certified as a Pilates instructor through the Articulate Eye Pilates teacher training program. The comprehensive training program requires a year of service and a minimum of 700 work/study hours.  Erin has always been involved in various fitness activities, but she found that the Pilates method gave her a unique awareness and control over her body.  Since teaching Pilates, Erin has found a great appreciation on how Pilates can be modified to provide beneficial results for any age or ability.  Erin’s goal for each lesson she teaches is that the client leaves having learned or gained insight that can improve how they move and feel outside the Pilates studio.  Erin came to the Washington area after receiving a BA in Arts Administration from Penn State University.

NICK HARTENEAU

Nick is an NSPA certified personal trainer with an athletic background that includes basketball, boxing, Krav-Mega, and Eurhythmy.  He became a personal trainer after working as a fashion model in New York City.  Nick is dedicated to helping his clients look, feel, and move their best.  He believes that healthy and sustainable lifestyle changes are the keys to fitness success.
